Summary of my research / findings...
The possible client base that am interested / aiming to work for is the music industry, it is broad enough for me to explore a variety of design including print / screen based, promotion and identity and many others. Diversity in my work has always been one of my creative aims and something that I hope to develop in the future.
I enjoy working with type and layout, as well as experimenting with image that is something that I hope to develop during the image module, these are all valuable skills within this industry. My growing interest in print is another area that could increase the value of my work and me as a product as it will allow me to explore my creative potential and produce a diverse portfolio of work.
Ideally I would like to work in a small studio, with an enthusiastic and professional attitude and a constant drive to produce better work. The place where I choose to do this is something I need to think about, whether I want to join an existing studio or explore setting up my own, and the effect this will have on the price of my work.
My main focus for the next few weeks will be developing my self-promotion, at very least I will design my own business cards but I also want to design some mail shots delivered to the music industry and existing studios describing my skills and how I could benefit them.
