Colin Snow

This is a evaluation of deisgner Colin Snow, who graduated Biola University in 2010, this seemed suitable because his work is of an extremely high standard and when thinking about my competition it shows me the quality of what I am competing with. His work is type orientated with a focus on fashion and print all areas of interest for me, and although he has only recently graduated he has had a lot of client based work produced.

He offers intuative design which is always to a high standard as well as a variety of styles and formats for each outcome, which is something the previous studios I researched did not offer. His work is very communicatively based using grids and clean type to deliver the different briefs, this is something I aim to develop thorough my own work and set of principles.

Alongside his website he has a blog showing his interests and passions within design, something I will continue to do once I have finished my degree to show people my sources of inspiration and principles as a designer. However recently this has become a very popular way of documenting thoughts and many of the blogs start to look the same and content becomes very regurgitated. By using on going themes and ideas I will make sure that my blog has something different to offer, something that will bring viewers back.

As my general competition as a designer he offers a very strong set of deliverables from each project and sets a standard for what clients will expect, however this provides me with an opportunity to develop my own skills and keep improving the quality of work.
