1. What is Industrial experience?
- A level of interacting with graphic design industry allowing me to understanding what I want to do when finishing my degree.
- Getting involved and beginning to understand how the skills I have been learning and utilising over the last 2 years transfer to a professional level.
2. What can you learn from industrial experience?
- Industrial Experience makes it much easier to understand the role you would play in a studio and gives you a better idea of the sort of place you might want to work when finishing the course.
- It also allows you to gain advice and experience of what the industry is actually like, as well as your own abilities.
3. What form/format could industrial experience take?
- Industrial experience can take a variety of forms, from simply speaking to people in the industry all the way to freelance work, and studio placements or internships.
4. What areas of industry are you interested in?
- The two main areas of interest within my own work are typography and print, but within these areas I am particularly interested in creating identities for brands both big and small.
- I am interested in working in a smaller studio that allows me to explore different paths within graphic design through an engaging and exciting process.
5. What are your concerns about industrial experience?
- Dealing with clients within freelance work, finding a balance between professional advice and creating something that the client likes.
- Finding a small studio that I feel comfortable in, somewhere that allows me to engage in the entire process rather than just a few smaller stages of the design process.
